After a fourth round exit at US Open last year, Swiatek reached the semifinals of the Ostrava Open where she bowed out to Maria Sakkari in straight sets. She then made it to the Round of 16 at Indian Wells and qualified for the WTA Finals too where she managed to win just one match and bowed out of the group stage.

The Pole started her 2022 season in Adelaide where she had an amazing run. She blasted past Daria Saville and US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez in the initial rounds before beating Victoria Azarenka in the quarterfinals. She then lost to top seed Ash Barty in the semifinals in straight sets 2-6,4-6.
