Pablo Andujar scored the biggest win of his career this week, as he defeated the Swiss maestro, Roger Federer in the second round of Geneva Open 2021. The Spaniard defeated the 39-year old in three sets, and progressed into the quarterfinals. As for Roger Federer, it was his first clay court appearance in over two years, and just his second tournament this season.
Pablo Andujar has heaped huge praise on Roger Federer this week, and has stated that the Swiss will return to his best soon. The Spaniard weighed in on the GOAT debate, and gave his opinion as to who, he considers as the greatest out of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The trio, popularly called the ‘Big Three’ have dominated tennis in the past decade, and are going strong even in the latter stages of their careers.

Pablo Andujar stated that the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, are icons after what they have achieved in their playing careers. However, he singled out Roger Federer, and regarded the Swiss as the greatest player of all time.
“Federer, Djokovic and Nadal are iconic. Roger is pure class, he is probably the greatest player of all time!,” said Andujar.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have won 20 Grandslams each, whereas, Novak Djokovic sits behind them with 18 majors to his name. The GOAT debate is one of the most talked about things in tennis, and no one seems to arrive at a consensus. Perhaps, every individual has his/her perception of the GOAT race, and has different parameters to evaluate a player’s success.
