Roger Federer returned to action this week at the Geneva Open 2021, where he suffered a second round loss to Pablo Andujar. The Swiss played only his second tournament of the year, and his first clay court tournament in over two years. The 39-year old will next compete at the French Open 2021, which commences from May 30.
Roger Federer was involved in a hilarious video with the adorable couple, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina. The Swiss had to hit the ball on the wall, with Gael Monfils standing with his back against the wall. Roger Federer had to place the ball in a such a manner that it avoided the Frenchman. Elina Svitolina started out by giving out instructions to the Swiss maestro in regards to how the challenge had to be performed.

Roger Federer placed the first two shots, and avoided any sort of contact with Gael Monfils. The 39-year old was looking very confident while carrying out the challenge, before his third attempt put the Frenchman under tremendous pain.
Roger Federer’s third shot hit Gael Monfils right where it hurts the most, and left him in pain. The Swiss legend and Elina Svitolina burst into laughter after Federer’s failed attempt. Elina Svitolina later said that fans should not try these challenges at home, while Federer was still trying to control his laughter. The Swiss stated that the video was shot behind the scenes and it does not count.
Later on his Twitter page, Roger Federer apologized to Gael Monfils for his error, and stated that he was still out of rhythm. He ended his post with a bit of humor, as he wrote that they would try the challenge once again in a few weeks. Surely not something Gael Monfils would like doing again.
