Novak Djokovic‘s court case against the Australian government is one of the biggest controversies in the tennis world and the drama does not stop. Despite the player being cleared of the charges and granted his visa that now clears him to stay in Australia, the peers of Djokovic are not all happy with it.

With Tennis Australia and the government making it quite clear that all players need to be vaccinated or have the medical exemption to play in the country, Djokovic opted for the medical exemption but upon arriving in Australia, the player failed to justify why he needed the exemption and was thus taken into the federal quarantine hotel as his lawyers preceded towards the court.

While Djokovic certainly won the case in the court, there are certain doubts whether the case was a clean affair or not as the documents that were presented proving Djokovic was covid positive look fishy while pictures of him posing with kids maskless on the dates when he was covid positive have since then gone viral. Speaking about this issue, Marton Fucsovics had some strong words for the Serbian.

“People’s health is paramount, and there are rules that were outlined months ago, namely that everyone should vaccinate themselves and Djokovic didn’t. From this point of view, I don’t think he would have the right to be here,” said Fucsovics as reported by journalist Ben Rothenberg.

Fucsovics was a surprise quarter-finalist at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships with his run being stopped by Djokovic himself who then went on to defend his title and win the Championships for the 6th time and also win his 20th Grand Slam title.

The two players have met on the Tour 4 times with Djokovic winning on all 4 occasions and leads the head-to-head tie 4-0 against the Hungarian. Their first meeting took place in 1st round of the 2018 US Open where Novak won in 4-sets. They next clashed in the second round of the 2019 Doha Open where Novak won in 3-sets.

The meeting in Wimbledon was their third meeting and the first time Novak won in straight-sets against Fucsovics. They clashed for the 2nd time in the 2021 season in the 2nd round of the 2021 Paris Masters where Novak won the match in 3-sets. While Fucsovics has certainly taken Novak into the deciding sets, Novak has always managed the victory somehow.
