The last match of Women’s Singles at the 2022 Australian Open is underway with Ash Barty all set to take on 27th seed American Danielle Collins. Barty is just one win away from scripting history on her home soil. She will become the first Australian to win the Australian Open Singles title in 44 years.

The penultimate day of the tournament is always special with the atmosphere the organizers intend to create before the night session matches begin. As many as two mega finals will be played on Saturday- the Women’s Singles Final between Ash Barty and Danielle Collins and the historic All-Aussie Men’s Doubles Final featuring Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis.

The last two days of a major always attract celebrities from all around the world. So is the case this time too. Many renowned world-class celebs are attending the Women’s Singles Final on Saturday.

As usual, the great Aussie tennis legend, Rod Laver, the man after whom the center court at Melbourne Park is named, will be attending the night session along with fellow Aussie tennis legend, Judy Dalton. Laver has won 11 majors in his illustrious career while Dalton is a 9-time grand slam doubles champion.

39-year old legendary Australian Swimmer, Ian Thorpe is also attending the event. The Aussie giant has won five Olympic gold medals, the most won by any Australian along with fellow swimmer Emma McKeon. Sydney Olympics Gold medalist Cathy Freeman too is attending the final.

Ahead of the Women’s Singles Final, the last Australian to win the Australian Open in 1978, Chris O’Neil placed the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup in the Rod Laver Arena.

But by far, renowned actor Russell Crowe, who is a guest of Ralph Lauren has the best seats in the house. He was seen in the backdrop and has one of the many on-court seats- which are the closest to the players.
