Former World No. 1 Serena Williams continues to work towards getting match fitness and return to the court having been absent from the Tour for nearly 8 months having last played a match on 29th June 2021 in the first round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships where the player injured her leg and was forced to withdraw.

Williams did try to return for the 2021 US Open but was unable to make a comeback despite her agent previously giving positive updates on her recovery. The superstar was expected to return for the 2022 Australian Open but a few days prior to the commencement of the tournament, she announced her withdrawal from the tournament as her medical team advised against her returning.

While she continues her hustle to return to the Tour, the American has ample time for her non-tennis commitments. One such work of hers was recently seen at the Super Bowl LVI played between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals. During the half-time which is a mini-fest, Serena was seen in the latest Michelob Ultra Super Bowl commercial.

The star-studded commercial featured Serena, retired NFL player Peyton Manning, basketball pro Jimmy Butler, gold pro Brooks Koepka, American footballer Alex Morgan and actor Steve Buscemi. The ad takes place in a bowling alley and has people playing bowling, pool and ordering the Michelob Ultra beer. Serena walks in wearing a purple jumpsuit styled with orange sneakers and has all the heads turning towards her as Buscemi, who plays the bartender, ends the commercial by saying ‘Game time’.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion’s long absence from the Tour has seen her drop out of the Top-200 rankings in the WTA singles. Serena is currently ranked 242 in the world. She can expect a further slump in her rank as she continues to remain absent from the Tour and has yet not confirmed when will she return to the Tour.
