Jan-Lennard Struff will play his 2nd Grass tournament of the season when he takes the court at the Mallorca Open 2021. The German comes from the ATP Halle Open 2021 where he was defeated in the 2nd round after winning the 1st round match against the top-seeded Daniil Medvedev.

Struff had a decent season on Clay winning the majority of his matches but didn’t find much success on Hardcourts. With focus now shifting to Grass, the German will look to get some wins before playing at the 2021 Wimbledon.

Adrian Mannarino will travel to Mallorca from the 2021 Queen’s Club Championships where he was defeated in the 2nd round of the competition. He made his Grass debut for the season at the 2021 Stuttgart Open where he was defeated in the first round and will be looking to make a positive start in Spain.

Mannarino has not enjoyed success this season losing the majority of matches on all surfaces. He went winless the entire Clay season and is now on a poor 10-match losing streak on Clay since the 2019 season.

Jan-Lennard Struff
Jan-Lennard Struff

Mannarino will come into the clash with a career Grass record of 74-48 and a season record of 6-16. He has been a good player on Grass however having maintained more than 50% win since the 2013 season.

Struff comes in with a 16-23 record on Grass across his career. His 6-3 record in the 2019 Grass season was the first season since 2013 where he won more than 50% matches and will look to pick-up from where he ended the Grass season in 2019. However, looking at the numbers and form, Struff will be the favourite to win the clash.

Prediction: Jan-Lennard Struff to win in straight-sets.
