18-year old Emma Raducanu scripted history on Saturday when she went on to win the US Open 2021 Women’s Singles after defeating Canadian teenager Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-3 in 1 hour and 51 minutes to become the first qualifier in the history to win a major title which is also her first WTA title since turning Pro.

Raducanu won the Grand Slam without dropping a single set throughout the tournament including the qualifying rounds and without having the need to go to a tie-breaker, the Brit did not play a single tie-breaker and the most number of games she lost in a single set, with that also happening in the qualifying and not the main-draw.

With such a huge feat accomplished by Emma, a great number of messages and wishes were directed towards her especially from Britain where she has quite literally become one of the favourites for all the upcoming competitions. Emma also received a congratulatory message from the Queen of England who praised the young teenager for her fantastic title run at the Slam.
