Russian tennis star Aslan Karatsev won the ATP Sydney Tennis Classic tournament this year by defeating tennis legend Andy Murray in the finals with a score of 6-3, 6-3. Since then the player has participated in many tournaments with the aim of winning his fourth singles career title but did not get any luck.

At the Australian Open 2022, he qualified for the third round by defeating Mackenzie McDonald in the second round with the score of 3-6, 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 but he lost the next round where played against Adrian Mannarino. Aslan later took part in the ATP Maharashtra Open 2022, but he again lost the round of 16 to Elias Ymer. Although he was a top-seeded player in the tournament but his quest ended early. The player again tried his luck at the ATP Rotterdam Open but got nothing other than disappointment as he lost to Tallon Griekspoor in the opening round

In a recent interview post-Maharashtra Open 2022, Karatsev was asked about his idol, to which he replied that Roger Federer is his inspiration and childhood idol. He said that the legend plays fantastic tennis even at this age and he has practiced with him a couple of times. The way Roger plays is on another level.

“I would go with Roger Federer. Because he showed fantastic tennis even in this age. I was practicing with him a couple of times. Still, the way how he plays, how he feels the ball, and how he moves is something another level,” said Karatsev.
