Casper Ruud finally completes the dental surgery keeping him out of the Houston Open

Casper Ruud broke new boundaries as he became the first Norwegian to reach the ATP 1000 Masters finals in Miami. Despite starting really strong against Carlos Alcaraz, Ruud failed to hold on to the lead and eventually ended up finishing as the runners up at the Miami Open.
However, he was happy with his performances at Miami as he never expected to reach the finals. Courtesy of reaching the finals, Ruud will now rise to World No. 7 ranking and it is mostly because of his consistency and dedication.
Casper Ruud undergoes surgery for teeth
Casper Ruud had recently announced his withdrawal just when the Houston event was about to begin on Monday. Going further, he had up on the reason, asserting that he had been having ache in his wisdom tooth for the past three to four days. “In the past three four days I have been battling some ache in my wisdom tooth which is not going away unfortunately.”
The 2019 Houston Open runner-up had so confessed that it is a tough decision but stayed hopeful of a strong comeback next year. “It’s a tough decision but I have to go home and get it fixed. I hope I can return one day and hopefully next year I’ll be back in River Oak.”
Now, after his layoff, Casper Ruud has finally undergone the surgery. The surgery was to remove his wisdom teeth. The Norwegian posted a post on Instagram, sharing the news to his fans. In caption to the post was “There goes ¼ of my wisdom if there ever was any.”
Following Casper’s withdrawal, the tournament re-worked and updated the draw. As per the updated draw, Ruud’s spot will now be given to a lucky loser. Replacing Ruud, the lucky loser will receive a first-round bye and will start his campaign from the second round.
