The current situation of Russia and Ukraine has created havoc in the entire world. People around the world are praying for the safety of the residents of both nations and hoping that what started as a spark does not burn the entire world.

This war between the two nations has not even left sports from it. Russian and Ukrainian athletes are being treated differently because of this ongoing crisis. The International Tennis Federation has postponed all the Tennis tournaments which world to be held in Russia or Ukraine.

Many tennis players are taking a stand on the current situation and the main motive of all of them is to stop the war and have peace. Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev after his semifinals match at the ATP Dubai Tennis Championships, wrote on the camera ‘No War Please’ which gained heat in a start time as Andrey is a Russian and writing such comments can have an adverse effect on him.

An American commentator and journalist, Clay Travis posted a tweet on his Twitter handle uploading the Russian for showing courage on an international platform. He wrote in the tweet that it takes courage to stand up and take a stand on such sensitive matters given the fact that Russian athletes can face threats because of it.

“Given the threats, a Russian athlete can face from its government, this is what speaking truth to power actually looks like. And this takes true courage,” Clay wrote in the tweet.

Andrey started his 2022 season with the most controversial tournament of the season, the Australian Open 2022 where he won the second round but got knocked out in the third round by Marin Cilic. He then took part in the ATP Rotterdam Open where he lost the semifinals to Felix Auger-Aliassime and tried his luck at the Open 13 and won the finals by defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Recently Andrey played at the ATP Dubai Tennis Championships 2022 and after a great run, won the finals by knocking out Jiri Vesely with the score of 6-3,6-4 to win his 3rd title in 2 weeks having won the doubles title as well in Open 13.
