Upset Alert! Adrian Mannarino defeats Rafael Nadal’s potential fourth round opponent and 10th seed, Hubert Hurkacz

Adrian Mannarino, who has been on the ATP tour for a long period of time has potentially scored one of his biggest victories in Grandslam tennis. The Frenchman defeated 10th seed, Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets in teh second round encounter.
Mannarino gave the Pole no chance whatsoever, as he started the proceedings on the front foot. The unseeded veteran won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 to book a spot in the third round. The match was played at the John Cain Arena, as Hurkacz is the third top 10 ranked player to be out of the Australian Open 2022. First, Casper Ruud was forced to withdraw due to an injury, and Novak Djokovic was deported back to Serbia after his visa was cancelled.

Hubert Hurkacz made headlines in 2021, notably for reaching the semifinals of Wimbledon. The Pole defeated Swiss legend, Roger Federer in the quarterfinals in what was one of his biggest wins.
Hubert Hurkacz was a potential fourth round opponent for sixth seed, Rafael Nadal. Mannarino found in roads into his opponent’s serve on six occasions, whereas, he was broken on just one occasion.
Adrian Mannarino got the better of his opponent’s serve on 6 occasions, whereas, he was broken just once. Mannarino won 103 points, as compared to his opponent’s tally of 78 points. The Frenchman was very efficient on his serves, as he won over 70% of points on first serve. It was indeed an all-round effort from the veteran who takes a step further at the Australian Open 2022.
