Stef did not lose the serve once and won the battle of aces with 21 aces to his name while Benoit had 11 for himself. It was a disciplined performance from Stef as he had 2 double faults, 47 winners and 26 unforced errors and ended up winning 141 points. Stef will now be up against American Taylor Fritz who survived a 5-set thriller against Robert Bautista Agut winning the last two sets to claim the win. Fritz and Stef have met twice earlier with both meetings in 2019 and Stef won on both occasions.

“Taylor is someone I have shared the court with him from a very young age. We grew up together. He has improved a lot in the last couple of years. I will be taking the match seriously against him and hopefully, I can have the crowd support and I can do my job in the highest of manner,” said Stef on his match with Fritz on 24th.
