WATCH: AUDACIOUS Nick Kyrgios Tweener shocks fans

Nick Kyrgios

Currently ranked 102nd in the world, Nick Kyrgios is one of the most skilful players when it comes to inventing different shots that are nothing but pure entertainment for the viewers. While he has a reputation of not playing at the potential he has, he certainly compensates it with some unreal shot making during the matches.

Nick has one of the most powerful forehands on the Tour and uses it well with a rocket serving arm, the player is one of the few who is not expected to show textbook shots but give some innovation to winning points during the matches and the Australian has hardly ever disappointed.

One such instance was at the 2019 Miami Masters when Nick was playing against Croatia’s Borna Coric in the fourth round of the tournament. The incident took place in the first set with Coric serving in the 5th game. After a few forehand-backhand exchanges by the two, Nick hit a drop shot that was managed by Coric who returned the ball to the Australian who was standing at the net and softly returned the ball.

While Coric was going on the other side, he somehow managed to hit it across for which Nick had to run at the other end and pulled out the tweener and hit it wide across the Croatian who was left stunned by the shot while the crowd was on its feet. While Nick went on to lose the match in 3-sets, he certainly made the match a memorable one for that shot that got one of the loudest cheers of the day.

In just 4 appearances at the Miami Masters so far, Nick started well at the tournament reaching the semi-finals in his first two appearances in 2016 and 2017 losing to Kei Nishikori and Roger Federer respectively. He then reached the 4th round in 2018 and 2019 losing to Alexander Zverev and Coric respectively. While he awaits his first trophy in the tournament in Florida, he will try his luck again this year with a wildcard entry.
