“Hostage of the communist state” Angry Novak Djokovic’s fans are fighting to get him out of his hotel

Novak Djokovic has found himself in all spots of bother, as the Serb’s Australian Visa was cancelled by the Border Force. Now, the 34-year-old is under hotel quarantine in Melbourne, and has been instructed to leave the country at the earliest.
Novak Djokovic arrived in Australia, after being granted medical exemption. The 20-time Grandslam champion was held by the authorities at the Australian airport, and his Visa has been cancelled due to an issue with his documents.
Fans across the world have been angered by the treatment dished out to Novak Djokovic. Serbian fans have gathered outside his hotel in Melbourne, and are in full support of their tennis star. Novak Djokovic will appeal the decision against his Visa cancellation, as he hopes to compete at the Australian Open.
Another masked person held a sign declaring Djokovic a “hostage of the communist state” as reported by CNN.
Fans angered and frustrated over Novak Djokovic treatment
In a recent video by BBC News, it is shown that Serbians have gathered outside Novak Djokovic’s hotel in Melbourne, and are showing immense support. Also, a resident of the same hotel talks about the quality of food at the hotel, which is quite poor and no action has been taken yet.
Outside the hotel, there was dancing and music on one side, whereas, there was anger and frustration from the other set of fans. Fans are shouting Novak’s name, and there are banners with his face all over.
Novak Djokovic has certainly found himself in a tricky situation, after his arrival in Australia. However, it is expected that the Serbian’s legal team are going to challenge the decision of Novak’s visa cancellation. With the Australian Open 2022 draw just a few days away, a decision has to be made soon which will decide Djokovic’s fate.
