Daniil Medvedev celebrated his 26th birthday with his family. The world No.2 after facing a tough loss from the hands of Rafael Nadal in the finals of the Australian Open is taking a short break from tennis before returning onto the tour.
The world No.2 had a lot of things at stake in the finals of the Australian Open and after winning the first two sets was almost inches away from achieving his goals. However, his desires were shredded into pieces as Nadal played some of the best tennis of his career and swooped the match away from the Russian.
Medvedev is now on a sabbatical and hasn’t confirmed when he will be returning back onto the tour. On Friday, he posted some pictures of himself on Instagram celebrating his 26th birthday with his family.

The 26-year-old received a brand new BMW car for his birthday. The 2021 US Open champion was mesmerized by the car and informed his Instagram followers about receiving a car as his birthday gift.
The world No.2 can be seen recovering from what could be considered as one of the longest and toughest matches of his career against Rafael Nadal in the finals of the Australian Open 2022.
Medvedev was in a comfortable position with two sets up against Nadal who was making comeback from his injury. However, came back stronger than ever and defeated Medvedev in his second consecutive Australian Open final.
He was very sad with the way in which he was treated on the court by the fans and during the post-match conference said that the dream of the child inside him to become a popular player and win big tournaments was just shattered.
Medvedev’s fans were happy to see him in good spirits, celebrating his 26th birthday with his family. He was showered with a lot of wishes in the comments and even received a like from his opponent and great friend Novak Djokovic who also had a forgettable Australian Open but for very different reasons.
