WATCH: ‘It’s been a while!’ Stan Wawrinka returns to Practice after a year of disappointment

Swiss tennis star Stan Wawrinka has spent almost a year off the court now, he stopped playing since he developed a foot problem in Doha last year in March. Since then the player has not made a single appearance on professional ground.

Stan is one of the most promising players of the Association of Tennis Professionals and his current ranking according to the ATP is World No.139 although his highest ranking was World No.3 which he achieved on 27th January 2014. The star has sixteen singles career titles to his name out of which he earned three Grand Slams. He won his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open in 2014 by defeating Greatest Player of All Times and current Australian Open, 2022 champion Rafael Nadal.

Recently Stan took to Instagram to share a video which has created lots of excitement and happiness among his fans. In the video, the Swiss is seen practicing on the tennis court.

The video went viral in a short time after the star posted it which shows how eagerly his fans and fellow tennis mates are waiting for his arrival. In the video Stan was seen practicing his moves, he hit a backhand in the clip. “It’s been a while,” Wawrinka wrote.

Stan played the last tournament of the season in March as a foot injury cut short his 2021 season. Wawrinka underwent foot surgery in March, before undergoing second foot surgery in June. He aimed to return to court and compete for his fourth Grand Slam at the Australian Open 2022 but that did not happen and his name was not on the list of players playing at the Happy Slam.
