WATCH: “Novak Djokovic left applauding” The World No. 1 gets stunned by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina’s massive backhand

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Novak Djokovic
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is back in action for the second time this season and he is being taken the distance by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round of the 2022 Monte Carlo Masters. Fokina has been absolutely brilliant against a rusty Novak but the Serbian has not backed down and has shown great mental strength to come back into match.
After a 6-3 win in the first set, Fokina was racing ahead in the second set as well before Novak had to put brakes on the racing Spaniard who had won an early break as well. Novak fought back valiantly to take the set into tie-breaker in the second set and was down in the tie-breaker as well but held his fort to capture the set and force a decider.
In the see-saw game so far, there was one particular shot that had even the Serbian applauding the effort of Fokina. In an exchange between the two, a massive forehand from Nole was hit wide of the Spaniard and he had to reach out racing to grab a backhand that he fired from the baseline to the right of Novak but the pace on the shot made it impossible for Novak who was left frozen and could do nothing but join the spectators in applauding the shot of Fokina.
