Felix Auger Aliassime and Daniil Medvedev clashed against each other in a much-awaited quarterfinal battle at the Rod Laver Arena. A final semifinal spot was up for grabs at the Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday evening.
The first set between the duo was a hard fought contest, as they literally pushed each other right until the edge. During the first point of the ninth game in the first set, Medvedev and Felix Auger Aliassime played out one of the exchanges of the tournament.
Daniil Medvedev was serving to reclaim the 5-4 lead in the opening set and keep the pressure on the Candian’s serve. However, as things panned out, the first point which was won by Felix Auger Aliassime propelled him to win the game and break the Russian’s serve.

The rally started with both players exchanging double-handed backhands deep from the baseline. However, in no time the two players kept moving from one end of the court to another, as they put on a show for the fans.
Soon, Felix Auger Aliassime changed up things as he hit a drop shot to invite Daniil Medvedev up to the net. The Russian just managed to get to the ball, as the duo had an amazing exchange at the net. Eventually, Felix Auger Aliassime claimed the point, with a winner, which even Medvedev applauded.
Eventually, Daniil Medvedev broke back in the first set, as he forced the set into a tiebreaker. Felix Auger Aliassime won the tiebreaker to take the opening set, and put the Russian in unchartered territory.
