Which racquet does Emma Raducanu use?
Emma Raducanu
Emma Raducanu is quickly rising in the WTA rankings thanks to her good runs across various competitions including the biggest of all stages, the Grand Slams. The 18-year old Brit made the headlines for the first time with her impressive and surprise run at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships where she made it to the 4th round that ended only because of a medical reason during her match.
With the eyes of the tennis world on her, Emma did not crack under the pressure and instead went way ahead at the very next Grand Slam, the 2021 US Open, where she started from the qualifying rounds and made it all the way to the finals of the Slam, becoming the first-ever player to ever achieve this feat at any Grand Slam. She also did it without dropping a single set throughout the tournament.
Her amazing playing style and range of shots made her one of the fan favourites at the Flushing Meadows with the crowd cheering her on as if she was playing in front of her home crowd.
Emma Raducanu’s racquet
Emma’s racquet and other equipment needs are taken care of by Wilson racquets who signed the teenager after spotting her potential right from her junior days. Emma currently uses the Wilson Blade 98. The racquet has a head size of 98 inches square with a length of 68.5 cm. With a balance of 33 cm, the Wilson Pro Performance gripped racquet has a strung weight of 323g.
“Aggressive ball strikers will find effective power on full swings, along with the needed control and spin to target the lines. Block volleys come off the racquet with decent pop and there is enough touch for sharp angles and malicious droppers. Players who can get this stick moving fast will find enough pace and spin on serve to force some weak replies, and there’s just enough mass on service returns to comfortably redirect higher levels of pace,” reads the official description of the racquet.
The racquet compliments Emma’s playing style and is also used by former Grand Slam champion Simona Halep and Olympic medallist Elina Svitolina.
