Dylan Alcott is an Australian Wheelchair tennis player and a Wheelchair basketball player. He has won 15 Grand Slams in quad singles and 8 Grand Slams in quad doubles.
Alcott started his basketball career aged 14, and made his debut for the Australian Men’s wheelchair basketball team, called the Rollers, at the age of 16. He was a key player in the Rollers squad when they won the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and became the youngest ever wheelchair basketball gold medalist, for which he was rewarded with the Medal of the Order of Australia. He added another medal to his belt, when his team won the silver medal at the 2012 London Paralympics.
Alcott then returned to wheelchair tennis in 2014 and within a year won eight titles including two Grand Slams and was ranked No.1 in quad singles. Since making his debut, the Australian has been dominating the quad singles field and has won 15 of the 18 Grand Slams held since 2015. His achievements in quad doubles are nothing short of exceptional either, he has managed to make it to the finals of all the Grand Slams he has participated in since his debut.
His most notable achievements was in 2021, when he won the Golden Slam (winning all the Grand Slams and Gold medal at the Olympics in the same year). He was the third professional tennis player to achieve this feat after Steffi Graff in 1988 and fellow wheelchair tennis player Diedde De Groot in 2021. In 2022, he was named as the ‘Australian of the Year’ and awarded with the Officer of the Order (AO), thus becoming the first person with disability to be bestowed with this honor.
At the start of 2022, Alcott announced that he would retire after the Australian Open, where he would be bidding for his 8th consecutive title.

Chanelle Otten is a relationship specialist and sexologist, and currently works in Melbourne. The couple met at Alcott’s book launch, Able, in 2018 and made their relationship public in 2019. Otten is often seed in the player’s box, cheering Alcott during during his matches.
The pair often share pictures of them on their social media accounts. Recently, Otten posted a congratulatory note to Alcott after he was awadred as the ‘Australian of the Year’.
