Who is the Chair Umpire for Women’s Singles Final at Australian Open 2022?
Ash Barty, Marijana Veljovic
Ashleigh Barty and Danielle Collins will clash against each other in the finals of Australian Open 2022 on Saturday evening. The stage is set at the iconic Rod Laver Arena, as the top seeded Australian battles it out against a rejuvenated Collins in the final.
The road to the finals has been rather straight forward for both players, especially Ash Barty who is yet to drop a set so far. On the other hand, Danielle Collins has also had a smooth sailing into the finals, and has dropped just two sets.
In a Grandslam final, the job of a chair umpire becomes 10 times tougher, as he/she cannot afford to give out wrong decisions. Marijana Veljovic is designated as the chair umpire for the Women’s Singles Final to be held on Saturday.

‘Beauty with brains,’ Marijana Veljovic is one of the top chair umpires around
Marijana Veljovic is widely recognized for her beauty, as Canadian tennis star, Eugenie Bouchard called her ‘super pretty.’ The Serbian umpire is also very precise and gives out the right calls on most occasions.
Last year, she was involved in an argument with Nick Kyrgios during his second round encounter against Ugo Humbert at Australian Open 2022. She handled the situation very well, and stood up to the imposing Kyrgios, much to the delight of several fans.
Speaking about the final, Ash Barty could claim her third Grandslam title, and her second major title in just over six months. Meanwhile, Danielle Collins could do the unthinkable and defeat the home favorite in her own backyard.
