“Wonder what Novak Djokovic would say”- Australian MP stirs controversy after Rafael Nadal comments “Can’t breathe” at Indian Wells 2022

After doctors revealed he had been playing with a damaged rib, Rafael Nadal will be out for several weeks. The Spaniard had a fantastic start to the new season, winning the Australian Open in January after playing 20 matches without losing. However, despite a valiant effort, he was unable to equal American Taylor Fritz in the Indian Wells Masters final due to breathing troubles.
That problem first appeared in his semi-final encounter against Carlos Alcaraz, a fellow Spaniard, but he was able to play through the agony and defeat his younger opponent. However, after Rafael Nadal went into greater detail about the issue, tennis fans all over the world went crazy, and a few well-known figures, notably Australian MP Craig Kelly, weighed in on the topic.
“I wonder what Djokovic would say”- Craig Kelly
Following Nadal’s remarks regarding his breathing troubles, Craig Kelly, the head of the United Australia Party in Australia, indicated that Novak Djokovic would have an interesting perspective on Nadal’s breathing difficulties.
Kelly conveyed his thoughts on Twitter, saying, “Well, well, I wonder what Djokovic would say.”
The MP didn’t go into detail about his contentious tweet, but it’s possible that he’s attempting to imply that Novak Djokovic can link Nadal’s respiratory problems to the fact that he’s been inoculated against COVID-19. Novak Djokovic, who has never openly backed anti-vaccination activists, was embroiled in one of the sports’ hottest topics in January when he was barred from competing in the Australian Open and expelled from Melbourne for failing to get vaccinated against the virus.
The Serb, however, is expected to compete in the French Open, where he may have a minor edge because it is unclear whether Rafael Nadal would return to clay. Even if he recovers, the Spaniard’s ailments may prevent him from playing effectively, favouring Djokovic’s prospects of defending the title.
