The WTA Adelaide International 2 2022 will be the 4th tournament of the 2022 season and one of the two tournaments scheduled in the final week before the 2022 Australian Open begins from the 17th of January in Melbourne. Women’s Singles Draw Analysis and Prediction
Top Half
Wildcard entrant and top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka will start in round 2 directly by the virtue of a bye and is most likely to take on Madison Brengle who will begin against a qualifier. Alison Riske will begin against Magda Linette with the winner set to take on the winner between the clash of 5th seed Veronika Kudermetova and Anhelina Kalinina.
4th seeded Tamara Zidansek will take on a qualifier and so will wildcard entrant Madison Inglis with the winner of the two clashes set to meet in round 2. Similarly, 7th seeded Jil Teichmann starts against a qualifier and will take on the winner from the match between Jasmine Paolini and a qualifier who is yet to be confirmed.

2nd seeded Elina Svitolina starts against Madison Keys and is likely to meet Tereza Martincova who will begin against Sorana Cirstea. Alize Cornet will take on Nuria Diaz and their winner will take on the winner between 8th seeded Liudmila Samsonova and Mayar Sherif, with Cornet and Samosonova favourites for their respective ties.
3rd seeded Coco Gauff will begin against Katerina Siniakova with the American favourite for the clash against Shelby Rogers who will start against Marta Kostyuk. Wildcard entrant Daria Saville will take on Ann Li with the winner set to clash with the survivor of the clash between 6th seeded Marketa Vondrousova and Viktorija Golubic.

Semi-Finals
Sabalenka and Zidansek could potentially clash for the 3rd time on the Tour with Sabalenka currently leading 2-0 in their head-to-head. Both the players did not have a good season opener and with the 2022 Australian Open set to begin from 17th January, they will be putting their best performances.
Svitolina and Gauff could meet for the 2nd time on the Tour having last played in the 2nd round of the 2021 Australian Open where Svitolina won in straight-sets. While Svitolina had a shocking upset in Adelaide, Gauff went down bravely to Ash Barty and could be the one heading into the finals.

Sabalenka and Gauff could potentially clash for the 4th time and it could be a thrilling clash as all of the previous three matches. While Sabalenka boasts 10 Tour titles to Gauff’s 2 Tour titles, it will be a very neck-to-neck affair in which Sabalenka might just nick it given her better experience.
