Barbora Krejkcikova will play her first quarter-final of the season on Clay as she finally gets some wins under her belt after having made a bad start to the Clay season. The 25-year old had failed to cross the Round of 16 so far on Clay this season after having made a good start to the season on the Hardcourts, finishing as the runner-up at the WTA Dubai Open 2021.

She comes into the quarter-finals on the back of a nervy 3-setter in the second round and early wrap of her first round match as her opponent retired mid-match due to injury.

Ekaterina Alexandrova will also play her 2nd quarter-final of the season which will also be her 2nd on Clay after previously reaching the last-8 at the WTA Stuttgart Open 2021. She came close to reaching another quarter-final at the WTA Italian Open 2021 but lost in the Round of 16 from where she has travelled to Strasbourg.

She qualifies for this tie on the back of two straight-set wins in the previous rounds and will look to continue the streak in this game as well.
