Bianca Andreescu is making her Clay debut of the season at the ongoing tournament. The 20-year old Canadian had to miss out on the tour as she suffered a injury during her Miami Open 2021 finals. This is also just her 4th tournament of the year as she prepares for the upcoming French Open 2021.

She was however in great form reaching the semis at the Philip Island Trophy as well before she played in Miami. She comes into the tie from an easy outing in the first set, losing just 3 games in her 6-1 6-2 victory in the first round.

Maryna will play her first WTA tour game after the 2021 Australian Open where she was knocked out in the 3rd qualifying round, failing to reach the main draw. She however has been busy at the ITF tournaments where she couldn’t win a title but finished as the runner-up.

In her 3 clay tournaments of the season, she is yet to go past the Round of 16 stage and will play her 2nd Round of 16 match tomorrow against Bianca in Strasbourg.
