As the MLB offseason continues, the rumors of players wanting to go away also goes on. One big talk in recent weeks has been the potential trade of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. from the Toronto Blue Jays. One of his former teammates Teoscar Hernandez has now weighed in on the situation and claimed that Guerrero Jr. wants to stay with the team.

The 25-year-old will explore free agency after the end of the 2025 season if the Blue Jays do not extend his contract. This could allow him to sign with any other team if he wants.

The two parties are both interested to get the extension deal. However, as of now nothing has happened. The third baseman has reportedly urged the team to get this done before the Spring Training or he will hold them until the end of the season.

If Guerrero Jr. does not sign an extension, the Blue Jays could lose their talisman for absolutely free. This tension has created talks of the team checking on other stars as the team could trade him and get something instead of getting nothing from him.

Teoscar Hernandez has now claimed that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. wants to stay with the team. While making an appearance at the Foul Territory podcast, the 2024 Home Run Derby Champion is hoping that the team can make something work for him.

Sometimes, as a player, when you don’t see the organization try to keep you, you get a little angry. I don’t think the Blue Jays want that to happen to Vladdy. Hopefully, they can make it work because he wants to stay. He wants to stay as a Blue Jay.

The 2-time All-Star claimed that the Dodgers have build a “legacy” and their team attracts the players. This is a reason why stars are eager to join them even on low contracts.

I mean why we play this game? We play this game to get money, that’s one, right? And we play this game to win, right?… Players are willing to take less money and go to a team that wins, and the Dodgers are doing that. They’re building already a legacy.

Kirby Yates was the latest signing of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team picked him on a one-year deal and designated Ryan Brasier for assignment to make room for him on the roster. Whether the team will sign any more players this offseason or not remains to be seen.
