Los Angeles Dodgers extend a $21.05 million qualifying offer to outfielder Teoscar Hernandez. The player can either accept or reject the offer. In case the player declines, the team will get a compensation pick instead.
Since his debut in the 2024 season, Hernandez has been an absolute fan favorite for Los Angeles. He played an instrumental role in leading the Dodgers to their World Series victory.
In media appearances, Teoscar Hernandez time and again mentioned how much he wanted to be part of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He even said he’d sign a deal by tomorrow if they offered him one. His postgame speech made many emotional, as everyone wished for his comeback.
Given the qualifying offer, Teoscar Hernandez has until November 19, 1 pm ET to come to a decision. Sadly, many doubt he’ll accept the deal, especially after coming off of a strong year. In case he is looking for a long-term deal, LA might not satisfy the outfielder.
However, in a press conference, he also noted, “I’m going to do everything in my power to come back.” On the other hand, the team refused to give a qualifying offer to pitcher Walker Buehler.
The Dodgers offseason is HERE and they’re already making on some decisions on how to go about the free agency of their own Teoscar Hernández and Walker Buehler ?

While many were not surprised to see the Dodgers extend a deal to Hernandez, Buehler’s news came as a shock for many. He was also been a key contributor to the team’s World Series run this 2024. Although, the team can still re-sign Buehler in free agency.
Since undergoing two Tommy John surgeries, many doubt Walker Buehler’s performance. While he struggled during the postseason, he hyped up the Fall Classics in October. In the regular season, he recorded a 5.38 ERA.
Kike Hernandez asks fans to convince Dodgers to re-sign utility player
Outfielder and utility player Kike Hernandez on the other hand requested the fans to help him convince the Los Angeles Dodgers decision-makers to re-sign him. He boldly claimed that the team will be even better next year with all the depths they are going for.
On Monday at the Raising Cane’s event, Kike Hernandez noted how he’d “love to be back” with the Dodgers. Since the World Series curtain fall, he has taken a dig at Yankees rapper and fan Fat Joe.
He spoke on how the team knew they’d win as soon as the pinstripes broadcasted Fat Joe on the screen. Hernandez expressed how much he loves being a Dodger and how much “I appreciate you guys.”
Kiké Hernández: "I really, really hope I'm back next year so we can run it back. So make sure you guys talk to Friedman and those guys and let them know."

The Dodgers have yet to discuss any extension with either Walker Buehler or Kike Hernandez. They are also considered “heavy favorites” to sign Roki Sasaki once he becomes available. The team will be making some deep moves and will have to strategize carefully for their next World Series hunt.
