This week’s SmackDown was star-studded. The show was kicked off by a fiery promo by Cody Rhodes, who declared his intentions to defeat Solo Sikoa. However, before he could make any more vows, The American Nightmare was interrupted by the former Tag Team Champions, A-Town Down Under. The duo laid an ambush on Rhodes, who got a helping hand from an unlikely source.

Grayson Waller and Austin Theory threw the Undisputed WWE Champion out of the ring. He then turned his head towards boxer Terence Crawford, who was sitting ringside. The latter handed a steel chair to Rhodes as the crowd went ballistic. The chair worked as an equalizer for the Grandson of a Plumber who faced a numerical disadvantage against A-Town Down Under.

Crawford is scheduled to face Jaron Ennis in a boxing match in Saudi Arabia. As for Cody Rhodes, he squared off against Waller and Theory in the main event of the show. This time, he got back in the form of his friend, the returning Kevin Owens. However, the night ended horribly for him as The Bloodline wrecked The American Nightmare to close out the show.

The Undisputed Champion is set to face Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam. The Tribal Heir has become an unstoppable force that looks to tarnish the reputation of Rhodes. After last night’s ending, fans will have to wait and see if the 39-year-old will be able to overcome the odds in Cleveland in just two weeks.

Cody Rhodes opined that the recent documentary gave too much insights to fans

WWE released the WrestleMania XL: Behind the Scenes documentary recently. The two-hour special showed the buildup to the WrestleMania main event. It featured the detailed story of how WWE crafted the incredible mayhem at the Grandest Stage of Them All in Philadelphia. Speaking of that, Cody Rhodes claimed that the documentary might’ve given too many behind-the-scenes details.

During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Rhodes said that he felt that the documentary was about to give too much away. He added that there should be a sense of discussion among the fans, and there should be secrecy. The American Nightmare revealed that he is against the idea of divulging everything to the audience.

So watching the documentary the other night, I feel like people have all these questions and there’s kind of these different outlooks and takes and I like that more than someone definitively saying no, here’s actually what happened.

At WrestleMania XL, Rhodes finished his story after a two-year wait. Besides, the series revealed the actual story behind WWE pivoting away from The Rock vs. Roman Reigns to the original plan.
