Terrell Owens’ heart filled with pride as he watched his son, Terique at the San Francisco 49ers’ local Pro Day. After calling his NFL career quits in 2010, the sole reason for Terrell to be at the Levi’s Stadium was to support his eldest son.
Following in the footsteps of his Hall of Famer father, Terique is among the 2024 wide receiver prospects, as he hopes to begin his NFL journey by the end of this month. At Santa Clara, with many other prospects, Terique took part in the Niners’ local Pro Day while his father cheered for him from the sidelines.
I'm proud of him just to get to this point. He doesn't have a lot of film-work, a lot of football-work throughout the course of his college career but there are different paths to making it to a team and making some history and success for yourself. This is definitely a step in the right direction.Terrell Owens said at the local Pro Day
The 6-foot-3-inch receiver is coming off a strong number which he posted at the Pro Day of the University of Missouri, earlier last month. He covered a 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds along with 38.5 inches vertical and a board jump of 10-4. When asked the 49ers great Terrell, he claimed his son is even faster than he was at his age, given Terique’s pre-draft time of 4.63 seconds in 40.
Terique Owens – The unlikely journey of a Hall of Famer’s son
This might come as a shock to many, but the son of the Hall of Famer barely had any interest in playing football in high school. In fact, he was fond of basketball and wanted to build his own name in that field.

I wasn't a big fan of football. My mom, she tried to get me to play football growing up, but I didn't care to play. I didn't really want to play. I didn't like contact.Terique Owens said speaking to the reporters
It wasn’t until his sophomore year when he tried football but that too for his friends. He joined the Bishop O’Dowd team but had limited practice time in his senior year, but later realized his love for the new sport. Terique considers himself a late bloomer, that’s why he does not have high hopes to land a team in the draft process and rather wants to join as an undrafted free agent to an NFC Club.
