Ever since the Buffalo Bills traded star receiver Stefon Diggs, they have reasoned it with his locker room reputation, which has appeared in many headlines lately. But it hardly bothers the Houston Texans, as they remained unfazed by his ‘diva reputation.’
For Texans, the priority is to solidify their offensive line led by Offensive Rookie of the Year, CJ Stroud. Adding the four-time Pro Bowler has truly been a jackpot deal for them, regardless of what made the Bills lose such a strong offensive weapon.
When asked about his disoriented locker room reputation, Texans executive vice president and general manager Nick Caserio defended the wide receivers, while emphasizing how the environment is different in Texans.
He’s an experienced player, he’s been productive, he’s instinctive, he has good hands. Our system is maybe a little bit different than the system he was in in Buffalo, but he was as productive as any player in the league.Nick Caserio said addressing the media
The Texans signed Diggs earlier this month, in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick, acquired from the Vikings, to the Bills. With this major move, the Texans have made themselves contenders as Diggs joined the squad of Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and Dalton Schultz.
Nick Caserio and Texans’ confidence in Stefon Diggs’ on-field performance
While talking about the trade deal that landed Diggs in Houston, GM Caserio also asserted that they signed for his on-field performance and what his addition means for offense as they are emerging a real threat for the reigning Super Bowl champions in their goal of a three-peat.
Again, our environment is different than another environment, so we really don’t know what’s going on in 31 other buildings. We know what’s going on in our building. We are excited to have Stef here.said Nick Caserio during Thursday’s press conference.
Moreover, the Texans GM also assured the fans that the franchise had signed the receiver after proper research and crossing off all the concerns on the list. He along with head coach DeMeco Ryans invested a good amount of time to analyze Diggs’ fit for their offense by inquiring with his former teammates and coach.
