“Bon Gamin’ Style” – Ciryl Gane puts on a technical MASTERCLASS and FINISHES Tai Tuivasa at UFC Paris
Ciryl Gane vs Tai Tuivasa
UFC Paris’ main event featured a five-round Heavyweight clash between Ciryl Gane and Tai Tuivasa. Tuivasa was taking on Bon Gamin in his backyard in the UFC’s debut in the country.
Gane has recently lost to the Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou at UFC 270. This was a title unification bout after Bon Gamin defeated Derrick Lewis in total dominating fashion at UFC 265 to capture the Interim Title. The loss at the hands of the champion broke Bon Gamin’s undefeated streak in MMA.
Going into the fight at UFC Fight Night 209, Tuivasa was riding a 5 fight-winning streak. He has Knocked out five of his last five opponents in devastating fashion. His last win was over former title challenger and Houston’s own Derrick Lewis.
Going into the fight the Frenchman was a heavy -560 favourite while Tuivasa was a +430 underdog. Gane was fighting on the card with his fellow MMA Factory teammates, Nassourdine Imavov and William Gomis.
Ciryl Gane shuts down Tai Tuivasa with VICIOUS body shots
Round 1: The round started as the former Interim champ had stated, he started punching his opponents while staying at range. The French crowd was stoked to witness the main event as they blew the roof off the arena at UFC Paris by singing the French national anthem. Tuivasa was able to land some leg kicks in the early minutes of the round. However, he was unable to close the distance in the first round.

Round 2: The start of the second round was good for Tai as he landed some punches in the starting minute. Although as the round progressed Tuivasa was visibly frustrated as Gane was staying at range and was picking Bam Bam apart with jabs and body shots. Although Tai was able to close the distance and score a vicious knockdown of Bon Gamin. The Frenchman survived and answered with his own body shots that hurt Tai badly.
Round 3: The third round started with a big pop from the crowd as the adrenaline rushed through their veins. Bon Gamin started the round at distance and started riping to the body of his opponent. Although Tuivasa visibly slowed down evident from taking those hard body shots though he was still swinging wildly. However, the pressure and onslaught from Gane was too much for Tai and he crashed on the mat. Bon Gamin finished the fight by landing some ground and pound to bag the win in his home country of France.
Result: Ciryl Gane defeats Tai Tuivasa via Knock Out in the third round
