The “Notorious One” Conor McGregor recently took to twitter to answer questions and comments posed by the fans. One particular tweet talked about how the Irishman had never displayed his true potential, and asked if it would ever happen. To this, McGregor replied that his best days in the promotion were yet to come.
He also payed homage to UFC legend Anderson Silva, referring to how his legendary career actually started when the Brazilian was 31. Silva recently fought his farewell fight against Uriah Hall at UFC fight night: Vegas, albieit in a losing effort.
“The game is still very young!”: McGregor confident about future fights
The former two-division UFC champion has claimed that his best days in the promotion are yet to come. Taking to Twitter, Conor McGregor cited the example Silva. He said that when the legendary Silva debuted in the UFC back in 2006, the latter was 31 years old. From there, Silva went on to be recognized as one of the greatest fighters of all time.
McGregor claims that he will improve on his performances inside the Cctagon in the coming years but will also prove that he still belongs at the top level. The Irishman promised that his best performances were yet to come.
“The game is still very young! Anderson didn’t start in the organization till he was 31. The world will know for real when this is all said and done. Who’s who and what’s what. Mark it down. The cream always rises to the top!”, McGregor tweeted.
McGregor is set to face Dustin Poirier in a blockbuster rematch next year in January. And with rumours that the fight could take place for the now vacant lightweight title, it would be a good time as any for McGregor to deliver his word.
