‘The Eagle of Dagestan’ won’t come back to the Octagon without his father
Khabib ‘The Eagle” Nurmagomedov stunned the world when he announced his retirement at UFC 254, following his win over Justin Gaethje via submission in the second round. With this win, Khabib takes his professional record to 29-0 but he also announced that he will hang his gloves now as he isn’t doing it without his father anymore.
The Eagle said, “This is my last appearance at the Octagon. All I did was because of my father and now when he isn’t beside me anymore I can’t do it. He wants me to be the greatest in the world and I’ll be on number one in the pound to pound ranking now with this win, so I don’t see it doing anymore. My mother also said me to not enter the Octagon without father again”.
After the win Khabib had tears in his eyes, he was very emotional and this shows how much he respects his father and misses him. But the world will surely miss him as they want him to achieve 30-0 but it was clear that how hard it was for Khabib to it without father Late Abdulamanap Nurmagomedov.
The carrier filled with excellence
Khabib made his UFC debut on 20th January 2012 in a fight against Kamal Shalorus in which he won by submission. His first major win at UFC came against Rafael Dos Anjos on 19th April 2014. Khabib won the UFC Lightweight Championship against El Iaquinta in the fight at which Khabib completely dominated him.
The Eagle has never lost a fight in UFC whether it was against Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, or Edson Barboza, Khabib dominated them all and never lost a fight in his professional carrier but it was all because of the hard work and dedication of his father.
Now his father already leaving the world makes no sense for the champ to enter the ring without him again as he was his everything. UFC may never get a champ like Khabib again!
