The Hardy Boyz are one of the most iconic tag teams in all of professional wrestling. They got their big break in WWE and are considered pioneers of modern tag team wrestling. BothΒ MattΒ andΒ Jeff Hardy also went on to find a lot of singles success in the company. The latter even ended up becoming a WWE Champion. After their recent appearance on NXT, it appears that the brothers are preparing for a more permanent return to the company.

According to WrestleVotes, there is an internal buzz within the company that Hardy’s NXT appearance is just the beginning. The former WWE Tag Team Champions might even have a proper run on the main roster later this year, perhaps in the spring or during the summer. This report is further supplemented by the fact that the promotion has started to sell new Hardy Boyz t-shirts in their merchandise store.

If this report does end up being true, it could mean huge things for the WWE-TNA partnership. So far, crossover appearances have only been limited between TNA and NXT. However, this could set a precedent that allows the major superstars in both companies to make appearances on each other’s main shows.

Jeff and Matt Hardy first joined WWE in 1998, quickly building up a huge fan following due to their high-flying antics. The tag team eventually split up, and the two brothers would go on to have singles runs in the 2000s. By 2010, both of them were released.

However, they did make a spectacular return at WrestleMania 33. They stuck with the company for four more years before quitting for AEW. Now that they have signed with TNA, it appears that this legendary duo will continue to make appearances in the Stamford-based promotion.

The Hardy Boyz will defend the TNA World Tag Team Championship at NXT Roadblock

Last week on NXT, The No Quarter Catch Crew challenged The Hardy Boyz to a match. The latter accepted after cutting a video promo on their social media accounts. Furthermore, they asked Fraxiom to pull up a chair by ringside to watch them in action. Last Tuesday night, the 8x Tag Team Champions returned to WWE and won their match in spectacular fashion. Even with both of them pushing the age of 50, they seem to have not missed a beat.

Following the match, Fraxiom got into the ring and congratulated them on their victory. Regardless of their performance, Nathan Frazer still claimed that he and Axiom were still the greatest tag team of today. Jeff Hardy wanted to skip the talk and have a bout to settle this matter.

This led to the entrance of Santino Marella, TNA’s Director of Authority. He said that he and Ava Raine had together decided that The Hardyz would be defending their TNA World Tag Team Championship at NXT Roadblock against Fraxiom.

This is a match that both companies have been teasing way back since TNA Genesis. Furthermore, this feud sets the stage for the legendary tag team to have feuds against WWE superstars, planting seeds for their potential main roster run later this year.
