Odell Beckham Jr‘s career is best described as a roller-coaster ride. He came into the NFL with much hype. The wide receiver had the ‘it’ factor. The combination of his athletic skillset with his entertaining personality, the colorful hair, and unique fashion choices made Beckham Jr. the perfect fit in New York.
Beckham Jr. was box office, and the key reason that prompted fans to line up outside MetLife Stadium. The 12th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft showcased his NFL-readiness immediately. He finished his rookie season with 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns, subsequently going on to produce another three 1,000-yard receiving seasons as a New York Giant.
Since the departure of Beckham Jr. from New York, the team has not had a star wide receiver, a player at the position who instilled excitement within the fans and left them brimming with excitement, until now. The Giants picked Malik Nabers with their first-round pick in 2024, and the former LSU wide receiver has made a positive name for himself as a rookie.
Nabers finished his rookie season with 1,204 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns, all in a year where the Giants had terrible luck at the quarterback position. The team began its season with Daniel Jones as the starter, but by November 18th, the ‘franchise man’ was benched in favor of Tommy DeVito. Subsequently, DeVito and Drew Lock helped the Giants finish the year, but Nabers showed that in the face of all uncertainties, he is capable of holding his own.
This season, the Giants have a Super Bowl champion at the quarterback position. With Russell Wilson leading them, Nabers is excited for the season, and since the Giants’ offense is in much better shape than last season, the wideout attempted to recruit a New York legend in Beckham Jr.

OBJ posted a picture of himself alongside his son Zydn. The two were seated in front of MetLife Stadium. The wideout posted a caption reliving the glory days he enjoyed in New York.
Mannn yo daddy did some Krazy shxt here…we changed the game n inspired a generation who came behind us. We still got more to do…I’m loving every second I get wit u n can’t wait to see what you do in this world…Ur turn twin.
Malik Nabers wants Odell Beckham Jr. back in New York
The heartfelt message was apt, and delivering the same with MetLife in the backdrop made it the perfect picture. Nabers commented on OBJ’s post by making a case to bring him back to New York.

We still got work to do.

It was a short message, but he got right to the point. Beckham Jr. continues to be a free agent after being waived by the Miami Dolphins. His best is behind him, but his time in New York is unforgettable. Apart from the injury-shortened 2017 season, OBJ had 1,000+ receiving yards in all of his other seasons with the Giants. His iconic single-handed catch remains a fond memory in the minds of the team’s fanbase.
Since leaving New York, he has not been able to return to that level of production. In his first season with the Browns, OBJ was able to surpass 1,000 receiving yards, but in subsequent years, injuries began to limit his availability, and his performance went down. Fortunately, his tenure with the Los Angeles Rams was fruitful and earned him a Super Bowl ring. Between 2021 to 2024, OBJ has been on four different NFL teams.
All signs indicate that his career is at the absolute end. The receiver knows it, but he prefers to cherish the memories and accomplishments of his past. OBJ can still be a role player in the NFL, and Nabers’ proposal for him to return to New York is not the worst idea. What better way to finish it off than in the place it all began!
