The Miz attacks R-Truth after losing in less than 2 minutes (via WWE)
It was truly heartwarming to see the team of Awesome Truth, comprising The Miz and R-Truth, come together earlier this year after spending thirteen years apart. These two highly deserving superstars also got their WrestleMania moment in April when they won the Raw Tag Team Championships in a ladder match. However, all good things must come to an end, as the team disbarred a couple of weeks ago.
This week on Raw, the former World Tag Team Champions faced each other in a singles match. As the bell rang, they surprisingly shook hands before laying a finger on each other. A few seconds later, The Final Testament made their entrance. The 2-time Grand Slam Champion was distracted, and Truth used the opportunity to roll him up. He picked up the pinfall victory not even two minutes after the match started.
Following the match, Karrion Kross ordered the Authors of Pain to throw Truth back into the ring. The former WWE Champion hit his former tag team partner with a Skull Crushing Finale and left him lying in the ring.
On the 30 September edition of Raw, the Awesome Truth faced the Authors of Pain in a tag team match. The A-Lister tagged himself in, but rather than going for the opponents, he attacked his own partner. The 44-year-old walked out of the ring and left his teammate to be destroyed by the former NXT Tag Team Champions, who then picked up the victory.
Even after this betrayal, Truth thought that his partner only did so because he must have gotten confused. However, when he found out the next week that it was done on purpose, the 52-year-old was heartbroken. He brought up how close their relationship was and that their kids even played together. The former rapper challenged him to a match this week, which unfortunately did not turn out so well for him.
The Miz explains why he betrayed R-Truth
Jackie Redmond interviewed The Miz on Raw Talk shortly after his match. Full of anger, he reminded everyone how R-Truth had extended his hand before either of them had thrown a punch. The Hollywood superstar looked at the crowd, who wanted him to do it, so he obliged.
The former WWE Champion shook his opponent’s hand with the mentality that the two were going to put on a phenomenal match for the St. Louis crowd. After this face-off, they would both go their separate ways. The former 24/7 champion could continue with his comedy stuff. Meanwhile, Miz would go back to being the Grand Slam Champion that he was.
And what happened Jackie? I shook his hand he got me? Is that what a good guy does, Jackie? There’s someone outside. Did I think Karrion Kross was gonna come out? No! He rolls me up; one, two, three? I shook his hand!

The Miz claimed that his pure intentions had led him nowhere. Truth simply put up the facade of being a good guy. However, he took advantage of Miz the first opportunity that he got right after they had shaken hands in good faith.
However, even after their split up, it appears that the 44-year-old may not be able to go in his intended direction. The Wyatt Sicks recently teased that The Miz could be their next target.
