When Vince McMahon initially resigned from his position as chairman in July 2022, his son-in-law, Triple H, took command. Many fans, WWE superstars, and employees have noticed a sudden change in the environment within the company. WWE legend The Miz believed that WWE was at an all-time high under Hunter’s leadership.
The Rich Eisen Show asked the former WWE Champion about the major changes. The Miz stated that, as a WWE superstar, he and the company had always tried to give fans what they wanted. He praised Triple H, saying that the morale in the locker room was at an all-time high because of him.
Miz further added that the 14-time world champion had given opportunities to wrestlers who hadn’t received them before. The former tag team champion even went on to say that he had never seen WWE this popular in his entire career. How true he was, as WrestleMania XL broke both attendance and merchandise records.
Right now, the locker room is at an all-time high of positivity. I think that Triple H has really took the reigns and has made this show incredible. He has given chances to people that may have not gotten chances before. I've never seen WWE so popular in my 20 years career that I've been here. The Miz via The Rich Eisen Show
The Miz and R-Truth have been enjoying a successful tag team title run since winning the belts at WrestleMania XL. However, due to the veteran’s crucial mistake of trusting Liv Morgan, they lost their titles to Judgment Day on the June 24th episode of Raw. Now, the legend has a golden opportunity to host SummerSlam in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
The Miz opened up about the goals he wanted to achieve in WWE
The Miz is recognized as a legend in WWE, and rightfully so, having won almost everything there is to win. However, if there is one thing he has been unable to achieve, it is winning the Royal Rumble match. He spoke about the goals he still wants to accomplish at the Stamford-based company.
While speaking on the SHAK Wrestling podcast, Miz felt that a Royal Rumble win would be a great addition to his career. However, he was more focused on the task at hand, which was to host SummerSlam in Cleveland, Ohio. The former world champion said that he grew up watching events at the stadium, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him.
Well I gotta win the Royal Rumble, right? And I think right now at the top like today, is to do something at SummerSlam in Cleveland Brown Stadium because it's a stadium I grew up watching and I think it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me because I don't think we'll ever be at Cleveland Brown Stadium ever again. The Miz via SHAK Wrestling [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
The 43-year-old legend expressed his desire to participate in the Royal Rumble match next year. However, it won’t be easy for him to win, as there will be many big names in the match. Especially John Cena, who announced his intention to compete in the events leading up to WrestleMania 41. Only time will tell what the future holds for him.
