The Miz has had an illustrious career in WWE. He has been a part of some memorable storylines that involve the best mic work in the company’s history. In 2016, Miz cut a fiery promo on Talking Smack with current AEW star Bryan Danielson. It was a career-defining war of words that elevated The A-Lister overnight.
Speaking with Adrian Hernandez about that infamous backstage segment, The Miz revealed that he was genuinely frustrated during that particular moment. The former Intercontinental Champion admitted that he lost control and went berserk at that time. He added that yelling while his veins were popping out was not the plan. In fact, all of that was natural. Therefore, it blurred the lines between reality and fiction.
The one with Daniel Bryan, that's probably my most infamous. When I got back and got out of that, I was so angry. It was real anger. I've never felt that type of anger before, and I didn't know what to do with it. It's scary. The Miz
In 2016, on a random episode of Talking Smack, Daniel Bryan, now Bryan Danielson, criticized the Hollywood Star by calling him a coward for his wrestling style. The Money Maker snapped and lashed out at Bryan for disparaging him and his wrestling style while he was sitting out after a career-ending injury. The A-Lister called his style safe for giving longevity to his career, unlike the former WWE Champion.
The promo became one of the best character works of the decade and led to a major controversy between the two stars. When the American Dragon came back in 2018, he quickly went after the A-Lister to prove him wrong. The real-life heat created magic, and Miz looks back on it as one of the most infamous moments of his life and particularly of his WWE career.
The Miz admits he and CM Punk have buried the hatchet
One more star The Miz had a rugged past with was CM Punk. The former made some serious comments about the latter on his first appearance on WWE’s Backstage Show on Fox. The Best in the World also had some NSFW comments for the A-Lister back in 2020 that sparked a lot of controversy. Speaking with Adrian Hernandez, the former Intercontinental Champion talked about his beef with the Straight Edge Superstar.
The Money-Maker revealed that he has buried the hatchet with the former AEW wrestler. He disclosed that during Punk’s surprise appearance backstage on Raw in 2023 backstage, the two stars locked eyes while passing by and had a conversation.
Yeah, it was in Chicago, and I was just walking down the stairs, and he was standing there. Remember, he left a long time ago and has never been back. So we ended up having a really good conversation, and it was one of those moments where we kind of just buried the hatchet, I guess you could say.The Miz
Therefore, when the Second City Saint decided to come back, both of them held out an olive branch and moved on. There has been no sense of disagreement ever since. The Hollywood star is certainly one of the best talents in WWE of all time. He lost his Tag Team Titles with R-Truth recently and looks back to get them soon as SummerSlam is scheduled to be in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
