While the NFL community struggles to cope with the sudden death of 24 year old Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins, there have been some unfortunate incidents surrounding his tragic death.

There has been widespread criticism from athletes and the public in general as to how NFL insiders have posted the news of his departure. Gil Brandt and Adam Schefter are two people who had posted insensitive tweets while reporting about Dwayne Haskins deaths.

Dez Bryant reacts furiously to Adam Schefte’s tweets

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has absolutely ripped into Adam Schefter and called him out on Twitter. Adam Schefter had first reported about Dwayne Haskins’ death terming him as a player who was a ‘standout at Ohio but struggling to catch on with Washington and Pittsburgh in the NFL.’

However after much criticism he quickly changed the tweet and reposted as – “Dwayne Haskins, a standout at Ohio State before becoming Washington’s first-round pick and playing in Pittsburgh, died this morning when he got hit by a car in South Florida, per his agent Cedric Saunders. Haskins would have turned 25 years old on May 3.”

Dez Bryant has taken notice of this and heavily criticized Adam Schefter and called out people to take note of how reporters actually view athletes as just a source of entertainment and not human beings. Dez Bryant also made a video and urged other players to speak up about this issue.

“Athletes for the record.. the shit Adam Schefter wrote that’s how a lot of people view us.. we ain’t shit but entertainment!.. if you let 1 treat you with disrespect the rest will follow…“, he said.

“Athletes, I’m talking to you regarding the shit Adam Schefter said and Gil Brandt said. Gil Brandt said Haskins was living to die and Schefter went into talking about his struggles after his death. Athletes, we have to speak up or remain in the cycle! Rest High Haskins!”
