A week ago, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels surprised Triple H with an unexpected revelation at the WWE Headquarters. During a Town Hall meeting, the legends revealed that The Game would headline this year’s Hall of Fame class. Recently, Undertaker spoke about the surprise, disclosing who he thought would induct Hunter.
While speaking with Bully Ray on Busted Open Radio, The Phenom unequivocally claimed that Michaels would do the honors. Michaels’ friendship with The Game goes way back to the 1990s. Behind the scenes, HBK helped his friend climb up the WWE ladder. Eventually, they formed one of the most iconic factions in WWE, D-Generation X. In fact, when Michaels retired in 2010, it was Triple H who inducted him into the Hall of Fame class the following year.
Although it comes as a non-shocker to fans, many have speculated whether HHH could pick his wife, Stephanie McMahon, instead. Moreover, The Cerebral Assassin might choose to have both McMahon and Michaels as his co-inductees, which has been done several times in the past.
Triple H will have a lot of time to think about the ceremony, which is expected to take place during the WrestleMania weekend in April. As of writing, WWE has yet to announce the exact date and location of the event. Without a doubt, this has been a long time coming for one of the most decorated WWE stars of all time.
Not only is he one of the best WWE stars of all time, but Triple H’s work behind the scenes is deserving of a HOF induction in itself. From taking over NXT and transforming it into the popular brand it is today to playing a pivotal role in WWE’s current success, fans’ admiration for the fourteen-time world champ has grown exponentially over the years.
Triple H reveals he wanted to delay WWE Hall of Fame induction
The aforementioned Town Hall surprise was not a two-person job. WWE president Nick Khan had also worked alongside Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker to induct Triple H into the Hall of Fame. The Game was reluctant to go in this early, as was revealed by him.

While speaking on the Royal Rumble post-show, HHH said that he had preferred to delay his Hall of Fame induction by four to five years. The Game had relayed this info to Khan, who was adamant in honoring his friend.
I’m just not gonna do that, so he said we have to do it eventually, and I was like, okay, if we have to do it eventually, let’s wait three, four, five years and then we’ll talk about it, and he said okay.

Triple H claimed that he was caught off-guard at WWE HQ when Michaels’ music hit. As Khan, Taker, and Michaels stood across from him, the WWE CCO slowly realized what the surprise was. Needless to say, fans cannot wait to see what Triple H has to say in his HOF speech.
