The style of wrestling has changed significantly over the years. With athletes from other sports jumping to the sport and high-flyers taking center stage, the modern wrestling techniques are nowadays reliant on big moves. Although most fans have become accustomed to these changes, there are a few people unhappy with this transition. Among the latter group of fans is none other than WWE legend The Undertaker.
While speaking with Collider, Undertaker detailed the issues of the modern style of professional wrestling. The Phenom pointed out how some of the athletes who jump to wrestling aren’t fans of the sport. This leads to their in-ring work coming off as a stage act rather than a real fight. Undertaker further highlighted how their matches suddenly shift gears, which leaves a lot left to be desired. Instead, the wrestlers prioritize pulling out exquisite moves to receive fans’ approval.
It becomes a track meet instead of a wrestling match. Nothing means anything. You might get a couple of pops for athleticism, but they haven’t grasped the idea of letting things breathe.

This isn’t the first time that the WWE Hall of Famer tore into the modern professional wrestling style. Previously, The Deadman had critiqued the stunts wrestlers pull nowadays. The Undertaker expressed concern at how wrestlers constantly put their bodies on the line, advising them to slow down and avoid an early retirement.
The Undertaker will have a lot of his wisdom to impart as he is one of the coaches on WWE’s recently released series, “WWE LFG.” Taker, alongside Booker T, Mickie James, and Bully Ray, will mentor rookies in their journeys to becoming a WWE Superstar.
The show will also feature cameos from the likes of CM Punk and Gunther. Speaking of the latter, The Undertaker also had some high praise to dish out regarding him.
The Undertaker reveals why Gunther is his current favorite WWE wrestler
Well, it turns out that The Undertaker does not absolutely hate everything about today’s style of modern wrestling. Continuing on his rant in the aforementioned interview, the WWE legend singled out Gunther as someone who would find success in any era of wrestling.

Undertaker affirmed that everything The Ring General does inside the squared circle has substance. Advertising his appearance on the upcoming LFG show, The Deadman lauded Gunther’s role and the energy he brought to it.
And I’m glad you brought up Gunther because he’s my guy. Gunther could have worked 10 years ago, 20 years ago—hell, even 30 years ago—and he still would’ve been successful.

The Phenom hasn’t shied away from praising Gunther, even mentioning the latter’s name during his interview with Donald Trump. The World Heavyweight Champion is currently embroiled in a rivalry with Jey Uso, with the two set to square off at WrestleMania 41.
