The Undertaker is a WWE icon, respected by both fans and fellow wrestlers. Many young stars have taken his advice and gone on to become top superstars. It seems legendary boxer Evander Holyfield‘s son, Elijah Holyfield, got the same from The Deadman, but in a harsh way. The wrestling world was shocked to see The Undertaker go off on him like that.

On the latest episode of Legends and Future Greats, Elijah Holyfield, representing The Undertaker’s team, faced Chris Island from Mickie James’ team. After Holyfield lost the match in under four minutes, it was time for the legends to evaluate the performance. The Phenom looked visibly frustrated and told Holyfield he was lucky he had already retired.

He added that although Holyfield performed his moves well, the flashy earrings and chain made it hard to take the match seriously. Bubba Ray Dudley agreed with him and advised the young star to remove them immediately. Meanwhile, Diamond Dallas Page praised both wrestlers and suggested they rewatch the match to see how they could improve.

If I was to work with you and you got in the ring with that chain and those earring in, I would rip them out.

The show premiered on A&E on February 16, 2025, featuring rising stars competing in a tournament to win an NXT contract. Fans enjoyed watching legendary wrestlers train amateurs and guide their improvement. Established WWE stars like CM Punk and Gunther also made appearances on the show.

WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts knew The Undertaker was special after their first meeting

To many wrestling fans, The Undertaker is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. But even before he became a legend, one Hall of Famer knew he was going to be special. Jake Roberts saw something unique in him from the very beginning. After their first meeting, Roberts believed he had the look, presence, and attitude to become a top star.

Speaking on an episode of The Undertaker’s podcast, Six Feet Under, Roberts shared his first impression of The Deadman. He said that from their very first meeting, he could tell Taker had something special. That’s why he chose to work with him. Roberts also felt a strong urge to mentor The Undertaker during his early days in WWE.

From the get-go, Mark had something special, and I think that’s one of the reasons that I hooked up with him. I knew that if he didn’t do this character perfectly, one little misstep, and he kills his gimmick.

The Snake also said that Taker needed to be very careful while building his character. He explained that one small mistake could have ruined The Deadman persona — something The Undertaker agreed with. Interestingly, Roberts also shared that he personally felt he ruined his own character during the time he took on the American Badass gimmick.

The Undertaker’s last WrestleMania appearance was game changing

Over the years, The Undertaker’s name has become closely linked with WrestleMania. He has competed in and won more matches at the event than anyone else. His final WrestleMania match was a cinematic bout against AJ Styles, which he won before officially retiring. Although he hasn’t wrestled at WrestleMania since then, it didn’t stop him from making a triumphant return to his yard.

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes clashed in the main event of WrestleMania XL Night 2 under Bloodline Rules, meaning anything was allowed. Reigns’ allies took full advantage, trying to make The American Nightmare lose. However, Rhodes had backup too. Jey Uso fought off his brother Jimmy Uso, and John Cena returned to deliver an Attitude Adjustment to Solo Sikoa on the announcer’s table.

The crowd went wild when The Rock and Cena faced off in the ring nearly 11 years after their last encounter. Rocky got the upper hand, hitting Cena with a Rock Bottom. As it seemed Reigns would win the match with help from The Bloodline, The Undertaker suddenly appeared and chokeslammed The Final Boss. His surprise return turned the tide, allowing Rhodes to finally finish his story and win the world title.
