For months now, Tommaso Ciampa has been secretly plotting to hit Randy Orton with an RKO ‘out of nowhere’. And each time, Ciampa failed to hit the future HOF’er with the devastating maneuver. In the latest edition of the saga, the 39-year-old star once again failed to deliver the RKO on The Viper. This time, Ciampa’s failed attempt received a one-word reaction from The Undertaker.

Johnny Gargano took to X to post a new clip of his tag team partner trying to catch the fourteen-time world champion off guard. While Orton was talking with an unknown figure backstage, Ciampa took the opportunity to run and hit the veteran with his finishing move. Just like his previous attempts, however, Orton backed away at the last moment. As usual, the #DIY duo looked into the camera and repeatedly shouted, “Stupid!”

A few seconds later, The Undertaker arrived to join the tag team, as even he thought the same of Tommaso Ciampa. This occurred during the SummerSlam weekend, where Orton made his return in the main event of the PLE. The Apex Predator evened the odds during the Cody RhodesSolo Sikoa bout, helping his former Legacy teammate. Meanwhile, #DIY had a day to forget on the SmackDown before the Biggest Party of the Summer.

After finally winning the Tag Team Championships a month earlier, Gargano and Ciampa lost the belts to The Bloodline on last week’s episode. The numbers game caught up to #DIY as Jacob Fatu secured the win and the titles for the faction. Following the disappointing loss, the duo will look to regain their championships in the coming weeks on television.

Randy Orton to face Gunther for the World Heavyweight title at Bash in Berlin

Earlier in May this year, Randy Orton and Gunther competed in the coveted King of the Ring finals in Saudi Arabia. After a hard-hitting encounter, The Ring General emerged victorious against Orton, winning the opportunity to face Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. However, the ending was controversial, to say the least.

Despite Orton’s shoulders clearly being off the mat, the referee counted to three. WWE CCO Triple H addressed the ‘botched’ finish, teasing a rematch between the two stars down the line. Therefore, The Viper chose an opportunistic time to cash-in against Gunther.

On the Raw after SummerSlam, Orton challenged the new World Heavyweight Champion to a match at Bash in Berlin. In response, Gunther accepted, as he felt that he needed to remove the stain of the controversial finish from his legacy.
