This week’s Raw witnessed the blockbuster return of a popular tag team. After being on hiatus for over a year, the former champions came back together to kick off a fresh start in WWE. However, they even underwent a massive name change that brought back fond memories for a lot of fans.
The tag team in the spotlight is none other than Erik and Ivar. They made their anticipated return on Raw this week with their original name called ‘The War Raiders’. The duo used the same name during their days in NXT. However, when they made their main roster debut, they underwent multiple name changes.
Nonetheless, it looks like Triple H has finally restored the spirit of the original idea that Erik and Ivar had after trying various lackluster gimmicks. Besides, the tag team had their last match on SmackDown last year against The Alpha Academy, where Erik injured himself. Meanwhile, Ivar pursued a successful singles run before getting injured earlier this year.

Furthermore, The War Raiders redeemed themselves tonight when they defeated The Alpha Academy in their return on Raw. In fact, they have even advanced in the #1 Contenders Tournament for the World Tag Titles. Therefore, it is going to be interesting to see how things will transpire for the two in the coming weeks.
What could be the arrival of The War Raiders mean for the Raw tag team division?
The War Raiders have had a successful career on NXT. In contrast, when they transitioned to the main roster, they lost their magic and failed to create an impact. However, it seems like WWE has finally decided to solidify the duo as potential faces of the Raw tag team division considering their presentation last night.
Erik and Ivar could pose as viable challengers for The Judgment Day on Raw. The latter has been having a lackluster title reign as champions with only a single title defense so far. Therefore, they need a tough challenge who could take them to their limits.
Moreover, The War Raiders might even capture the World Tag Team Titles in this second coming of their career. In addition to that, there are several tag teams on Raw who could serve as new rivals for Erik and Ivar in their conquest to glory.
