“They want to hear his opinion” James Palmer credits Joe Burrow for the Bengals new winning culture

Joe Burrow and James Palmer
Joe Burrow in just his second NFL season has led his Cincinnati Bengals to the Super Bowl. Telling anyone that after the 2019 season would leave them absolutely astonished given the state of the franchise at that point in time.
While Burrow is such a huge part of the Bengals playing in the Super Bowl this season, a lot of credit has to go to the front office in Cincinnati and their team-building ability as they’ve been able to build a quality team with depth on both sides of the ball.
A bit of that team-building came down to Joe Burrow being involved in certain decisions which has clearly resulted in success. James Palmer took note of these factors and weighed in on the Bengals recently.
James Palmer credits the Bengals for utilizing Joe Burrow in player acquisitions

Appearing on ‘NFL Network’ James Palmer was quoted saying “This defense is a direct result of how this team has been put together the last couple of seasons. When DJ Reader came in 2020, he was the start of guys wanting to come to Cincinnati because they saw what they were building. Obviously, Joe Burrow in place helps that.”
About Joe Burrow, Palmer added, “Joe Burrow told me that Duke Tobin(general manager) was asking him about draft picks and to watch some film about different guys just to hear his opinion about what could be brought into the organization.”
In football, the quarterback is by far the most important position on the field. Without a solid starter, you’re not gonna win very many games. The Bengals absolutely nailed it by drafting Joe Burrow but they went one step further with him.
Utilizing Burrow in personnel decisions allows for high-level chemistry to be developed as you’re not gonna have guys that don’t get along. More chemistry mixed in with intelligent players results in having a team that is resilient and able to run multiple schemes successfully and battle through any situation. That’s exactly what the Bengals are.
There are numerous organizations around the league that don’t exactly take into account their players’ needs or opinions when it comes to personnel decisions due to the risks. But, seeing the Bengals success this season could change some minds of head coaches and general managers around the league.
