‘They were BETTER than us ‘ : Zinedine Zidane and Casemiro accept defeat against Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are into the Champions League final. History in itself as the German coach who took charge of Chelsea just a few month’s ago has done the unthinkable indeed. Chelsea will be playing Manchester City in the finals at Istanbul on 29th May.
Timo Werner got Chelsea the early lead in the 28th minute. N’golo Kante drove towards the Madrid defence before releasing Kai Havertz whose first time shot hit the bar. However Timo Werner was there to nod it back in.
Mason Mount put the final touches as Chelsea took a 2-0 lead and a place in the UEFA Champions League final. After missing several chances at humiliating Real Madrid, Mason Mount finally put the nail in the coffin.
Zinedine Zidane and Casemiro praise Chelsea
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has accepted the defeat against Chelsea and said that his team were nowhere near to Chelsea’s quality. The Spanish club looked tired and ragged and were run all around the pitch. Midfielder Casemiro also said that Chelsea were the better team and they can have no complaints.
“We can all be proud of the players, we gave it our best shot and we got here, to within one step of the final. Chelsea put in a great performance and you have to congratulate them.”
“Our shape was very clear, we’ve played many games like this but today we lost lots of individual battles and we were missing something. We tried but it was a very demanding game.”
“Then they played better and they had more opportunities, but there is no going back.I think Chelsea were superior and played better than us.
Real Madrid have an important La Liga game upcoming against Sevilla and they must shift focus to that now. They have a good chance of securing the league or else they will be going trophyless once again.
