Chelsea defender and veteran footballer Thiago Silva‘s wife Belle Silva is one of, if not the most outspoken among partners of professional footballers. The internet personality has time and again sparked conversation on social media and Football X in particular. Her most recent reaction came after Chelsea’s humiliating loss to rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

A quick look at her social media handle makes it evident that she is an extremely vocal supporter of the club. Several posts show her support for the club as she retweets and posts reactions to Chelsea games. However, it is safe to say that she was disappointed at yesterday’s result. A quick look at the starting line-up tells what may have forced her to feel so.

Thiago Silva started the game on the bench, after being replaced by Benoit Badiashile. Silva was subbed on in the 78th minute of the game, which was obviously too late for damage control.

Mikel Arteta‘s men had already put five past the Blues prior to Silva’s introduction. It doesn’t require much mental effort to decode what Belle Silva’s meant when she tweeted that.

A Champions League winner with Chelsea, Thiago Silva has reportedly chosen to call time on his Chelsea days. The defender has opted not to renew with the club and will leave at the end of the season.

Reports coming out suggest that the defender has already found his next home, as he reached a verbal agreement with Brazilian side Fluminense. Silva painted a painful picture after the heartbreaking defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final. His decision comes after four long and illustrious seasons with the Blues, even though his ‘farewell’ season lacks lustre.

The 39-year-old’s contract expires on June 30th and will subsequently sign with Fluminense, making it official. His final season at the club saw him make 32 appearances till date, while also scoring four goals in the process. While Silva’s departure will create a significant hole in defense, Trevoh Chalobah is more than equipped to become his replacement.
