Thiago Silva set to receive contract extension with Chelsea
Chelsea FC are ready to start negotiations with Brazilian defender Thiago Silva over a potential contract extension. Silva joined the blues in a free transfer this summer transfer window and currently has a 1 year contract at London.
The Pensioners recorded a 2-1 win to extend their unbeaten run in the UEFA Champions League as Olivier Giroud scored a last minute goal in addition to Callum Hudson Odoi’s opener.
Chelsea to extend contract with Thiago Silva
It is safe to say that the entry of Thiago Silva to the Chelsea defense has bolstered it by quite a lot. Moreover Silva has enabled young French Defender Kurt Zouma to express himself freely.
It’s obvious younger players are extremely impressed with the quality and experience be brings into the team. Right back Reece James is in awe of Thiago Silva and recently said-
“Thiago has brought a lot of experience. He has helped me a lot. You can see straight away why he has been one of the best in the world. He constantly talks to me throughout games, helping me in my positioning, directing me and making sure he is talking to me before, during and after games. It all adds up and improves performances.”
Chelsea are set to activate the clause which will allow Thiago Silva to stay at the club beyond 2022. Frank Lampard already has the services of Antonio Rudiger and Fikayo Tomori in the team.
