We’ve seen a lot of impressionists who make their usual round of celebrity impressions which have grown popular over the years. There have been many impressionists who’ve tried to imitate tennis players with their style of play, the grunts, and the physical limitations that are part of their game.
One such impressionist is a tennis coach Stelios Gkontsaris. He posted a video recently on his YouTube channel doing impressions of top players like Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Andy Murray, and Dominic Thiem to name a few.
Such was the uncanniness of the impressions that it has begun to spread virally across different social media platforms. The highlights from the video are the impressions of Murray, Nadal, Djokovic, and Wawrinka.
His impression of Murray featured the Scot’s overbite scowl and the surprised grunt, as well as his accurate technique impressions.
It is safe to say that even Andy would be impressed by how Stelios’ impression closely resembles his own. The Nadal impression has been a feature one for many impressionists. The Spaniard’s superstitious actions on the court are known to all tennis fans.
The slicking of the hair either ways from his forehead, the vociferous grunts, the underwear adjustments and the iconic fist pump accompanied by a “vamos” were some of the actions imitated by Stelios.
His impressive imitation of Djokovic is another highlight of the video. These include his walking and grunting, also the way he bounces the ball.
The Wawrinka one will be a hilarious one as he captures the backhand action follow through of the Swiss as well as the pointing towards his head makes it spot on.
He goes on to imitate Tsitsipas, Kyrgios and Thiem which are as equally impressive as the other ones.
